Rajasthan Trip Cost: How Much a Week Really Costs
· 6 min read · By Tripsiana Team

How much does a Rajasthan trip cost? It depends heavily on your travel style — Rajasthan can be done on a shoestring or as a full royal experience in restored palace-hotels. As a rough guide, a week in Rajasthan costs from around ₹15,000 per person on a budget to ₹65,000+ for a luxury heritage trip. Here's how the numbers break down.
Daily budget by travel style
| Style | Per person / day | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Budget | ₹2,000–3,000 | Guesthouses, local transport, street food |
| Mid-range | ₹4,500–7,000 | 3–4★ hotels, private car, guided sights |
| Luxury | ₹12,000–25,000+ | Heritage palace-hotels, private guide, fine dining |
What drives the cost
Accommodation
This is the biggest lever. Rajasthan is famous for its heritage hotels — converted forts, havelis and palaces — which range from affordable boutique havelis to iconic luxury stays like the lake palaces of Udaipur. Budget guesthouses start around ₹800–1,500 a night; heritage properties run ₹5,000–15,000+.
Transport
A private car with driver is the most comfortable way to cover Rajasthan's distances and typically costs ₹2,500–4,000 per day (shared across your group). Trains and buses are far cheaper if you're on a budget and don't mind the extra time.
Sightseeing & activities
Fort and palace entry fees are modest (₹100–600 each). The bigger add-ons are experiences: a camel safari and desert-camp night in Jaisalmer, a Ranthambore tiger safari, or a boat ride on Lake Pichola.
Sample trip budgets (per person)
- 4-day desert escape: from ~₹15,000 — see our Jaisalmer Desert Escape.
- 7-day Jaipur–Jodhpur–Udaipur: ~₹27,000–33,000 mid-range — our Pink, Blue & Lake Cities.
- 8-day luxury heritage: from ~₹65,000 — our Luxury Heritage tour.
How to save
Tip: Travel in the shoulder months (early October, March) for lower rates, share a private car with a group of 4, and mix one or two heritage-hotel nights into an otherwise mid-range trip for the experience without the full cost.
