Rajasthan Itinerary: 7 Days in Jaipur, Jodhpur & Udaipur
· 7 min read · By Tripsiana Team

Seven days is the sweet spot for a first trip to Rajasthan — enough to see the Pink City, the Blue City and the lake city without rushing. This 7-day Rajasthan itinerary covers Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur, the three cities that best capture the state's forts, palaces and romance, with tips on how to extend it into the desert.
Day 1–2: Jaipur, the Pink City
Start in Jaipur. Spend your first day at the magnificent Amber Fort, the honeycomb Hawa Mahal and the City Palace, then dive into the old city's bazaars for block-printed textiles and jewellery. On day two, visit Jantar Mantar, the hilltop Nahargarh Fort for sunset over the city, and sample Rajasthani thali. If you're flying into Delhi, this is also the classic Golden Triangle starting point.
Day 3: Jaipur → Jodhpur
Drive to Jodhpur (about 5–6 hours), the Blue City. Many travellers break the journey at Pushkar, with its holy lake and Brahma temple. Arrive in Jodhpur by evening and settle into the old town beneath the fort.
Day 4: Jodhpur, the Blue City
Explore the towering Mehrangarh Fort, one of India's grandest, with sweeping views over the blue houses below. Visit Jaswant Thada, wander the clock-tower market, and if time allows, tour the Umaid Bhawan Palace. Jodhpur's old city is made for slow, atmospheric walks.
Day 5: Jodhpur → Udaipur
Drive south to Udaipur (5–6 hours), stopping at the spectacular Ranakpur Jain Temple or the mighty Kumbhalgarh Fort and its great wall en route. Reach the lake city by evening.
Day 6–7: Udaipur, the City of Lakes
Udaipur is the romantic finale. Take a boat ride on Lake Pichola past the Lake Palace, tour the sprawling City Palace, and visit the Jagdish Temple and Saheliyon Ki Bari gardens. Watch sunset from a rooftop café over the lake. On day seven, depart from Udaipur airport, or continue your trip.
Want to extend it? Add the desert
With 3–4 extra days you can add Jaisalmer — the golden fort city — with a camel safari and a night in a desert camp on the dunes. See our things to do in Rajasthan for the full spread of experiences.
