Day-by-day itinerary
Land at Leh and transfer to your hotel, where a traditional khata (welcome scarf) greets you on arrival before you settle in and start acclimatising. Later, head out across town: climb to the 15th-century Tsemo Castle for a commanding view over the Leh valley, stop at the gleaming white-domed Shanti Stupa, and look around the old Leh Palace with its Tibetan-style tiers. Wind up with a wander through the busy Leh Market, where you can browse for souvenirs or get a T-shirt printed, then return to your hotel for the night.
