Golden Triangle Tour: Delhi, Agra & Jaipur Guide
· 7 min read · By Tripsiana Team

The Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — is India's most popular tourist circuit and the perfect first trip to the country. In a short loop you get the capital's history, the Taj Mahal at Agra, and the forts and colour of Jaipur, Rajasthan's Pink City. Here's everything you need to plan it.
Why it's called the Golden Triangle
Draw a line between the three cities on a map and you get a rough triangle, each leg roughly 4–6 hours by road. It's "golden" for the wealth of monuments packed into a small, easy-to-cover area — ideal if you have 5 to 7 days and want maximum India in minimum time.
The three cities
Delhi
India's capital blends Mughal and colonial history: the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, the bazaars of Old Delhi and the wide avenues of New Delhi.
Agra
Home to the Taj Mahal — best seen at sunrise — plus the imposing Agra Fort and the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri nearby.
Jaipur
The Rajasthan highlight: Amber Fort, the Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Jantar Mantar, plus vibrant bazaars for textiles and jewellery.
Suggested 6-day itinerary
- Day 1–2: Delhi — Old and New Delhi sightseeing.
- Day 3: Delhi → Agra — Taj Mahal at sunset, Agra Fort.
- Day 4: Agra → Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri.
- Day 5: Jaipur — Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, bazaars.
- Day 6: Jaipur → Delhi departure.

Extend your Golden Triangle
The circuit pairs beautifully with the rest of Rajasthan. Add Ranthambore for a tiger safari — our Golden Triangle with Ranthambore (8 days) — or continue to Jodhpur, Udaipur and the desert on a fuller Rajasthan itinerary.
